That would specifically be the dark web which is a subset of the deep web. Do you want to see a murder because you can if you go there.

Or just go on live leak lol

Yeah. Unless your looking for CP, drugs, or a hitman you can find mostly the same stuff on the edgy messageboards like the chans and liveleak.

If you plan on browsing the Dark Web, I recommend setting up a Tails VM via Virtualbox. Tails is a Linux distro specifically tuned for maximum privacy and anonymity whenever possible (though nothing is ever foolproof). Install Tor on this and ensure the VM is completely isolated from your host (no shared folders or whatever).

Sign up for a VPN service if you want to. While it's highly recommended, it's not required if you are smart and quick with your dark web sojourn. Do not count on them to keep your information private if you plan on browsing illegal content, as they will hand over your information to authorities if they are subpoenaed.

Never maximize your browser window or run the VM in fullscreen, as a surprising amount of information can be gleaned by resolution and refresh modes (when combined with IPs). Cover your webcam and microphone with electrical or duct tape as well.

Browse the Hidden Wiki for content, but beware. Never download anything unless it's a .txt or .rtf file (be wary of these nonetheless). Any media file or files with .pdf, .jar, .scr, or .exe as an extension is an immediate red flag. If you still want to download something, examine the file extensions very VERY carefully, as clever people can have a theme park of malware or illegal content masquerading as a legitimate file. When in doubt, don't download.

If you plan on purchasing anything, buy some BTC first. Many sellers abound on the Internet and BTC is virtually anonymous and safe. NEVER USE YOUR CREDIT CARD ON THE DARK WEB. NEVER USE PAYPAL ON THE DARK WEB. ONLY USE BTC.

When you're done with your session, disconnect from the VPN entirely and destroy the Tails VM.

Remember, it's not worth the risk to visit illegal sites on the Dark Web. Just don't. Please.

Or put it in prison, which is better I suppose.

Listen, with some materials you only need to look at them to commit a crime and land your ass on some list out there. Just don't.

I was once there just cruising and to be honest 95% of what I saw was extremely weird shit, so yes you can go and have a look but don't expect that you'll come back feeling better after having experiencing it.

Thus, from the war of nature, from famine and death, the most exalted object which we are capable of conceiving, namely, the production of the higher animals, directly follows. There is grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers, having been originally breathed into a few forms or into one; and that, whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved.

Just download the Tor bundle, look up the current address for the hidden wiki, and then look around there.

If it's just the hidden wiki then you won't see any incriminating, and the links will give you an idea of what's popular. Just don't click on any of the links which goes to illegal websites.

The deep web is just unindexed sites, the overwhelming majority of it is simply databases and various servers. This is just anything that a search engine can't find.

There is a small section of that deep web though, the Darknet, that does contain illicit materials. If you're willing to go there is completely up to you.

Is there disturbing stuff there? Well, yeah. But most of it is just message boards and forums for the discussion of topics like pedophilia, drug use, and other various crimes. Also, a good, good portion of it is fake and simply there to try and scam people. If you can frequent sites such as 4chan, 8chan (Which I guess is technically darknet too now that google has removed it from search results) and liveleak, then you aren't really gonna see or read anything that is too much darker than what's already out there.

As for the dangers of going to such places... Well, it too depends entirely on where you go. There are a number of CP sites on the darknet, and the majority of them are maintained by the FBI (No, literally. It was leaked some time back) as nets for catching criminals. If you also attempt to purchase drugs online, or other such activities even while on Tor you're still traceable. There's a risk yea, but like i've said it all depends on what you try to do, or where you try to go. Also... Viruses are common place there, so... Make sure you've got a solid AV running and are using at least Tor for browsing such tings.

Yeah I ended up on 4chan once, and never again will I go there. Some shit you can't unsee...

In terms of disturbing content the two are pretty close. I'd honestly say that liveleak has more murder, gore, and violent oriented videos than you can find on the darknet.

I don't understand why people say this stuff is on the "dark web." BME Pain olympics was a "popular" video when I was a kid of a guy cutting his dick off.

You could find it on most porn sites and through google. Probably still could.

You guys are vilifying this information when in reality it's just servers that the search engines don't poll. It's NOTHING SPECIAL. Technically my home server is the "dark web."

Eh stop giving the kid a hard time and let him "explore" a bit.

Let him learn things the hard way, everyone has to figure out the world isn't all lollipops and rainbows at some point.

The innocence of youth is meant to be lost eventually...if he wants to have his mercilessly torn from him and shoved through a meat grinder that's his choice xD

all im going to do is just briefly look at the dark web, then delete the browser right away.

If you do go I suggest using a vm. It's a lot safer than exposing you real pc.
