I hate the designs of these retarded "gamer" branded products even more. I want something that looks decent, not some edgy looking monitor that had more thought put into the branding on it than the color calibration.

Because it's stupid bullshit that some people actually believe... Yeah, 4K is clearer but look how they exaggerated the fuck out of it. Also, "300% more onscreen" lol what?.... I'm sure you already know this, but the image is scaled to the monitor's resolution/size, so you wouldn't actually lose any image like they're claiming...

It should be 300 percent more pixels not more on screen. the size of the screen is the same 27 inches but for each pixel on the 1920 screen their are four pixels on the 4k. Another way to put it is 1920 pixels * the 1080 pixel tall  means it has 2,073,600 pixel total, While the 4k which is 3840 across and 2160 tall which equals 8,294,400 pixels. This is where the 300 percent more comes form. However since they are both the same sized monitor (27 inches) you do not get more screen but instead a clearer image.

They do this kind of stuff with all kind if tech. Give it a simple name so they don't need to explain it to those who don't care (cough Nintendo HD rumble cough). However in this case i understand you anger. They are just wrong.

Well somebody doesnt know math cos that 300 number is wrong. 4K is 4x the pixels of 1080p

300% more pixels is correct.

 

100% more = twice as much.

200% more = three times as much.

300% more = four times as much.

 

 

But you're missing OP's point. 4K has 300% more pixels, but in a game it's not like you will only see 1/4 of the action if you use a 1080p monitor.
