VinsinityKT

What signs do you look for when backing out of a deal? This guy just seems hostile to me.

Just from his replies I wouldnt buy from him.

EIther that or hes a douche who doesn't know how to sell things, that'd also stop me from buying him.

Also What brand/model is it? or founders edition?.

Ask him if he's ever overclocked the card, and if so what speeds he got.

I would avoid. Craigslist is like the shady back alley of eBay without the protection. $400 seems kinda low for a GTX 1080. Even if legit, that guy is kind of a dickhead.

I didn't think I offended the guy for anything. His post was just vague saying GTX 1080. 400 Dollar. I'm used to buying from this kind of site.

Tell him to f**k off, jk but tell him I am deciding to not buy this card due to your substandard behavior. Or something like that.

My thoughts exactly :P If he says he never overclocked or gave an un-realistic number, i'd guess thats 2150+? for a 1080? not too sure on how well they do. But if its either of those it probably isn't true.

At least we can see the fan is spinning, that's one good sign it works. Also I think he did not peel off the protection paper

Used isn't worth full price anyway.  $400 does sound a bit low considering the full price is a bit above $600 at least but that doesn't necessarily mean it's suspicious. At least not by itself.  $400 is a lot better than nothing if the person just want to not be out the full cost of the card.

But in combination with the poor attitude it's defintely suspicious.

I ask simple questions that I believe should be asked when making a deal on something like craigslist. There are scammers out there and you have basically no way to get your money back if you hand up cash up front. I'm not going to just jump into this deal without questioning. This is a 2 hr drive I was willingly going to make if he acted professionally about this. I have done many deals before that have all been done like adults.
