Hello lads and gents. I'd like to thank you before even start the topic for giving advice or recommendations. I'm living in Turkey and I want to build my first PC. I'm going to use it mainly for gaming and streaming Rocket League. I have budget around $US 1200 (1 usd is 3.76 try at the moment. (hurts)). I've a little knowledge about building a PC. I made this build on PcPartPicker. Is it ok for streaming? I have every peripherals. I'll buy second monitor in the future (Can be 4K, depends on prices). The reason I'm upgrading is the laptop I have is getting not enough each days especially on stream.

The laptop I have;

Spoiler

MSI GS60 6QE Ghost Pro Laptop

  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M
  • Intel i7-6700HQ
  • DDR4 16GB RAM
  • 128GB SSD

An additional question; Should I choose my Rams speed depends on my CPU or my motherboard? Thanks all!

When he said budget I thought this would be a i7 6700 + h110m scenario... maybe it ain't that much of a "budget" after all hahah... I find a shame pairing a 6700k with 16gb of ram with a GTX 1060... at least the 1070 to keep the build balanced in my opinion.

Why not NEX PSU? Is it bad brand or bad model?

I use an i7 6700 with h110m-c and in no way it'll make my PC last less than that build up, motherboards have no effect in performance, as long as they are decent enough they will do their job which is be a bridge between hardware, your build is unbalanced because it has a lot of computing processing power but not much graphical processing power I strongly advice you considering the @deXxterlab97 suggestion as it offers better value and balance.

HIgher end mobos actually help with getting better over clocking since they tend to have better power systems. in your case it didn't matter since you had a non k version

The difference is still close to negligible, besides such far overclocking you speak of would not be advisable to an i7 6700k with that kind of cooling solution neither therefore all more reason why in this case scenario spending more for the motherboard is hard to justify; he'll need at best 2 sata ports, one pci-e x16 for the GPU and likely a PCI-e x1 or PCI for a wireless card.

Also, why not consider a z270+i7 7700k if overclocking is the main game here?

as long as he has a good enough power supply and mother board he should be able to hit a 5ghz over clock on air maybe a bit lower depending on the average room temperature of where he lives and i'm guessing hes not going for 7700k because its more expensive and overclocking is about getting the most of the product you payed for not necessarily for using the newest stuff

Just a note, your laptop is totally 100% fine for streaming. You can swap your encoding to Nvidia NVENC in whatever software you're using, and then you won't have any sort of CPU performance hit anymore. Depending on your current streaming bitrate, you may want to up that a little bit. If you're using OBS I can offer more help. If you still want to build a desktop that's all fine and good, but I did want to point out that you can stream on that laptop just fine.

Not necessarily, reaching 5ghz with the 6700k is by no means an easy task especially with air cooling, I am not sure where are you getting your source to state this though I disagree.

Also, in this case the 7700k is hardly costier than the 6700k, @deXxterlab97 already showed a build with it pretty much retaining the original pricing, and since OP showed great interest in overclocking he will in fact getting the most for what he is paying for with the Kaby Lake, as in this case the newest stuff does overclock much better as Kaby as it is essentially a high polishing of the Skylake; the 5ghz mark becomes more realistic with it.

OP can check the following video for further information, and I advise you to check it too:

I'm getting drops on fps on stream to 60 fps. I'm more like a fps guy rather then a graphic guy. I feel myself more competitive. I'm using x264, 2000 bitrate. I'm playing with very low graphics so its more likely too much using cpu like you said.

my source is my overclocking of both a 6700k and a 3770k both using 212 evos my ambient temperature is lower then most (tends to be around 10C) which probably makes it easier for me and or i could just be lucky with the chips i got. the mother boards used were asus sabertooth z170 and sabertooth z77 both extremely stable overclock with pretty much no effort on getting 1ghz over clocks 4.5 for the 3770k and 5 on the 6700k. im planning on upgrading the cooler on the 3770k and trying for a 5ghz overclock on it soon

Yep, x264 is your problem. Try swapping that to NVENC.
