Dell Inspiron 15 7000

Can anyone tell me where I can get the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 equipped with a gtx 1050 ti and an ips FHD display? I tried the website but it was a bit complicated and not so organized in my opinion.

Doubt you will get any other options for it. The configurations appear to be limited as it is.

They're probably IPS panels. I don't see why they'd be anything else from the last generation. :P

On their website, the laptops that are equipped with ips display have the word ips stated.

However the New Inspiron 15 7000 only have the word ips stated on the 4k display model. The FHD models only have the word LED anti glare backlight stated.

Could you help me confirm whether the FHD model has an ips display please?

Honestly dell sucks at selling laptops, the dell website is trash and there are not many other places to look since amazon doesn't carry all configs, maybe look at newegg

Does anyone know where it is planned to be launched? If not, when do you think it will be?

I'm thinking of ditching the dell inspiron and get the acer vx 15.

They have more or less the same specs but the acer vx 15 is guaranteed to come with an ips display.

Thanks to all those who have helped me by giving your opinion, I really appreciate it.

NO DON'T. Acer is the fucking cancer of laptops, worse company to ever make laptops, even a pile of shit would be better made and then their "support" yeah that is useless...

Just calm down with this laptop buy and wait until some reviews from propper reviewers show up (NOT LTT)

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M

Feel free to pm me if you have a question for me or quote me. If you want to hear what I have to say about something just tag me.

And the 4K model isn't even yet confirmed to use a true 4K display.

Last year's 4K model used the RG/BW Pentile matrix to claim the 4K (3840x2160) resolution, which replaces the RGB in each pixel with either only RG or only BW. It calls for a full 4K 3840x2160 picture from the GPU, but the downsampled picture the display shows you has lower chromatic detail than that of a 3K 2880x1620 display . It gives you all the downsides of 4K (potential scaling issues, potential lower battery life) without all the benefits (picture isn't as sharp, diagonal "screen door effect" can be visible, text can appear fuzzy). A common consensus on this is that it's a deceptive practice, and that it means the display is not truly 3840x2160.

If you are interested in the 4K model, I would recommend holding off until reviews come in confirming if this is a full RGB panel or a pentile panel, as this has significant bearing on what the 3840x2160 spec means. If it's pentile, I would recommend instead purchasing a laptop that is confirmed to use a true (RGB) 4K panel, such as the Dell XPS 15 or upcoming Lenovo Y720 which has been confirmed at CES to use a true 4K display.

This demonstrates the issue:

  • 2 weeks later...

How would I be able to tell? I should be getting mine in a few days. I would love to be able to know if it is a true 4k panel!

Actually the panel has been determined to be a true RGB 3840x2160 panel manufactured  by Sharp! Sources are in the update at the top of this link.

Though if you'd like to test yours just to make sure Dell didn't pull something sneaky and use pentile panels in some, save this image to your desktop, and open it in MS Paint (MS paint is good at showing things with no zoom regardless of DPI scaling -- it should be somewhere around 1/3 the width of your screen) and make sure it looks like the RGB display out of these two.
