If I don't get a response, I will try out Windows ME. It's a good OS also.

PC hardware might be too new?

Right off the bat, that's way too much RAM for anything older than XP, good chance the hardware is impractically too modern.

It doesn't work even with 512 MB even, is there a CPU Gigahertz limit??

Win95 won't run on that specs. Need something older and 4GB is overkill.

There is a disk image you can boot in to fix this issue. I just can't remember where I got it on the internet.

Good chance the incompatibility goes deeper than simple clock speeds, a Pentium 4 is awfully far from 486 or other more native hardware for 95.

OK, I'll try it on a 80386 PC I have with 4MB RAM

Also found out any PC 2.2 GHz or faster will crash NDIS load function in 95..

That will be kind of slow. Need at least a Pentium w/MMX or better off a Penitum II or !!!

this is the best I could find on how to do it, but everything says expect little to nothing since there will be no driver support for your hardware. Everything suggests you either invent a time machine to get working hardware from back then, sell your soul for hardware, or raid a traffic control junction box because seriously that's pretty much the only place to find those old components

The machine I have that runs windows 98 really well has a 240 MHZ pentium with 64 MB of ram.\

Now, of course that is 98 not 95, so spec requirements might be different for 95.

Why would you be trying to run Win95 on something that new? That CPU is too fast for Windows to boot, and that's WAY too much RAM. If you want help with vintage computers, check out the link below. I'm not affiliated with them (although I am a long-time member) but they are nice and could easily help you. You get folks more interested in older computer stuff over there.

HERE

Main System: Phobos

AMD Ryzen 7 2700 (8C/16T), ASRock B450 Steel Legend, 16GB G.SKILL Aegis DDR4 3000MHz, AMD Radeon RX 570 4GB (XFX), 960GB Crucial M500, 2TB Seagate BarraCuda, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations/macOS Catalina

Secondary System: York

Intel Core i7-2600 (4C/8T), ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3, 16GB GEIL Enhance Corsa DDR3 1600MHz, Zotac GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB, 240GB ADATA Ultimate SU650, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations

Older File Server: Yet to be named

Intel Pentium 4 HT (1C/2T), Intel D865GBF, 3GB DDR 400MHz, ATI Radeon HD 4650 1GB (HIS), 80GB WD Caviar, 320GB Hitachi Deskstar, Windows XP Pro SP3, Windows Server 2003 R2
