Bought an used Iphone 6 plus...and i got a problem

Rotterdams

Hi all,

So I bought a used Iphone 6 plus from a 40 year old lady...but I got screwed.

"sometimes" mobile data doesnt work and it wants me to turn it on...which is crazy because its already on. I turn off and on the mobile data like 10 times and then it works again.

Software is up to date. and I restarted the phone a few times. At first I thought it was my sim card but I used it on a regular iphone 6 and that one has no problem at all.

So I am kinda worried that something is wrong with the hardware, is there anyway i can fix this?

Edit: I cant return the phone and I wont go to Apple to fix it. It will cost me more then the phone itself lol

Hook the phone up to iTunes on a PC. After that perform a Restore. iTunes will download the latest firmware and destroy the current install of iOS and will proceed to install iOS again.

Have you tried to restore it in DFU mode? maybe something is wrong with the software and a factory reset wont fix it.

Try restore it in DFU mode, this is what most reapir services use to bring back to life Bricked iPhones, and is actually a recovery mode from apple.

See some insctructions here.

Its basically what I told you to do just that you semi nuke iOS before you plug it into the PC.

Yeah, I also recommend doing the restore using a PC. It's fixed my aunt's iPhone when it did stuff like this. Hers was new though.

I presume all parties have a pair of eyes and so everybody involved should be able to see just fine xD but I know what you meant.

Try factory resetting the phone.

if that doesn't work then go to Apple and see what they have to say. Otherwise you're really screwed.

@Rotterdams Did you get an answer to your problem? If so I can lock the thread if you like since it hasn't been that productive. If you still need it I'll go through and hide all the useless/pointless responses so it'll be much easier for you and everyone else to actually address them problem.

I've cleaned up the thread, A LOT. Don't derail a thread like this again, if you want have a totally pointless argument take it to PM. Threads asking for help have a purpose, if your post isn't on topic then don't do it.

If the the DFU mode reset doesnt work you can try going in and "resetting all network settings" as this might help as well.
