CAN I OVERCLOCK ON A MSI B150 CHIPSET?

I need some serious help here guys. Am I able to overclock on a B150M CHIPSET? I own a MSI B150M NIGHT ELF skylake mobo. Is there any possibility to overclock CPU with this board? As I've seen on the overview website of this board, it has a CLICK BIOS 5 bios version. I need a quick response right now because I'm planning to buy a skylake cpu, certainly i5 6600.

No, if you want overclocking you will need a z170 board, and a 6600k.

You can probably get a little bit out of BCLK overclocking, but it wouldn't be worth doing.

You'd need a K processor and Z170 board (if you were to go skylake) to overclock with the multiplier.

PC - CPU Ryzen 5 1600 - GPU Power Color Radeon 5700XT- Motherboard Gigabyte GA-AB350 Gaming - RAM 16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB - Storage 525GB Crucial MX300 SSD + 120GB Kingston SSD   PSU Corsair CX750M - Cooling Stock - Case White NZXT S340

You could, but only with a very little (100mhz) bonus. Plus, it's dangerous for both your CPU and motherboard. Not worth doing, IMO.

So true it hurts

Make sure to get a K skew CPU or the Multiplier will be locked.

Do a little research on the Mobo bios and see if they have the option to mess with Volts ect. Even one click OC can get u started somewhere.

Take a good look at the power delivery system of the motherboard. If there are heat sinks around the CPU socket, they shouldn't get too hot with a very mild OC.

Without the 'K' you will be doing what they mention above, and doing base clock overclocking, which is not very precise compared to Voltage, Frequency, and base tweaking all at once. ect.

You can BCLK OC but I wouldn't on a B150 purely because it's conponentents aren't as robust for OCing as a Z170. With a bit of tweaking you can BCLK OC a locked CPU to about 4.4 ghz without too much trouble

That's an F in the profile pic

RKRiley, how did you say so that it is not worth doing? I'm a newbie in OCing, as well as PC building.
