I've Finished my first "from scratch" game. What do you think?

Today was the final day of graded development for my advanced game programming class. My team (2 other guys) and I have spent all semester working on a title we call Ice Runner.

 

Here is a video of some gameplay, and map creation.

 

 

The concept sprouted from a little mechanic in Pokemon where a player would "skate" on the ice until hitting a boulder. We thought it would be a fun idea to make that into a race between two players, and where the players could create challenging maps for each-other.

 

Here is the mechanic that inspired the game:

I would love to answer any questions, accept any constructive criticism (I know the background is very epileptic unfriendly for starters). This was largely a learning experience, but honestly people seem to have so much fun with the game that the team and I are thinking of continuing development and making it better.

I am coding my own Monopoly game with C atm. I want to learn some more advanced stuff like all those cool graphics and looks like you but I suck at drawing. So far code based Monopoly only

All of the graphics are 100% shaders. No drawing at all. And yeah, I can't draw anything

Don't worry. I can't draw a cube in MS paint.

I was going to try draw a cube for the lols but i'm running linux and I can't be bothered to find an app

 

@Remixt only thing i don't like is that background, make my eyes hurt else well done. (y)

Unless DOS supports Direct x I doubt it.

Yeah, it was required for my class. We had to use Direct X and C++ for the game. Everything else was up to us.

ah , looks neat , i suppose it from the ground up by that description 

 

edit: since its direct x , now many fps does rivatuner say you have?

The game is locked at 60 XD. When I unlock the framerate it goes to about 500 hehe.
