Hello everyone.

 

I was having dinner with friends and this topic came up. What is your odd/quirky trait that you do or have?

 

Mine is once a week when I shower, I bring a piece of fruit in with me. I do not know how I started doing it but the fruit always tastes better.

Oh, that reminds me of another quirky trait I have: my sneezes are completely silent. No noise at all :P

Just got elected as President of my schools outdoor club (hiking, biking, rock climbing, back country skiing, backpacking) that has a base of ~500 students. Meanwhile, My room is computer hardware, video games, and I browse this forum fairly excessively.

 

More of a "quirk" though, I refuse to shave my face without having just showered.

I can get almost 80 clicks in 5 seconds on a mouse. After 3 tries I basically have carpal tunnel

Probably the most annoying quirk i have is absent mindedly picking up accents and slang when speaking to people from different regions.

While it helped me greatly when learning german, because after only about a year I had, to quote my teacher at the time 'very natural pronunciation' I however more or less find it really... really... annoying. I don't actively try to do these things, my brain just lumps them in with everything else.

Also... thanks to a working closely with a group of associates from texas for a few months about three years back, I've been stuck reflexively saying 'Howdey'. And it pisses me off so god damn much.

 

There was also a time when I had house guests from the extended family in austria staying with me, and after only a couple weeks I began falling into that half austrian accent while speaking english, and sounding like a complete ass. I despise that about me so much, so... SO... very much. They thought it was funny, I sounded like I was a freaking tourist from austria too... and not... you know... someone who grew up speaking only english, and only learning german a handful of years prior.

I rinse things even if I personally cleaned that dish/cup/silverware ect or else it feels dirty to me. ?

I've got a few quirky traits:

  • I always show up for something either Early or Late. Never on time.
  • I used to think that asking for help makes you look weak :D
  • I generally have dramatic mood swings - I'm either really happy or boo hoo i'm really pissed off or not in the mood
  • I really hate children, especially young children
  • I really hate not being able to tell the time (if I am not able to)
  • Apparently I have a tendency to not walk directly in a straight line xD.
  • I have a tendency to be really pissed off of If i have to repeat myself for any reason.

 

And yeah.
