OEM 6800k from ebay not new? Ripoff?

Get in contact with Ebay. Tell them that you didn't receive an OEM CPU as the seller mentioned, the CPU cover is dirty, and that you have not used it yet. The serial number, which I think the seller is speaking of, is the batch number. The serial must be found using a program.

Hello ArikozuM, and everyone else!

Thanks for helping, well trying.

Today ebay closed the case with these words.

" closing the case on your seller's favor "

So thats it the seller has did, i failt.

Well 400 dollar can go fast if you buy stuff online.

Thanks everyone, thanks.

its the number starting 252....that should be your item number.  Furthermore, how does he know the serial numbers don't match?

Ok yeah thats my item number.
Idk what he trying, i think he wants ebay to believe i try to return somthing fake or so.

(Sorry for sending my last message twice didnt see it there)

Thanks!

Yes. In most cases, they will side with the buyer.

But you have to make it easy for them:

1. If the seller states something like this, demand proof. If they deliver wrong information, point that out. Keep all your messages as short and as clear as possible. Always be polite and constructive.

2. Only accept messages via ebay. No email or other communication

If your case can't be resolved by the seller, ebay may look over all your messages. So you can improve your chances to almost 100%, if you help the ebay employee to find out what really happened quickly.

Ok thanks!
I hope they are on my side!

Ok so the seller doesn't want to reply anymore.
So im gona need to wait some business day before im able to ask ebay there help!

So yeah lets hope that works.

Thank you guys!

I noticed somthing weird, as you guys now its a OEM 6800k

And i read somwhere that oem only has 1 year of warranty instead of 3 years on the retail version.
Now i saw that it says on the back of the small intel book "3 years warranty" so is he trying to sell me a broken retail version.

This ontop of all the other things?

Thanks!

I got response:

"The first 3 photos (the early ones) have CPU removed from the cover The latest photos , the cpu have been putted back to the cover and closed to take visual effect of arrival Once again , the Serial number doesn't match Please be aware that fraudulent activity is prosecuted on ebay"

What now?

Ofc i package everything all the time so its save and stuff doesn't get lost

Thanks!

Are you talking to the seller or Ebay? Have you used the CPU at all? Also, if he means the serial number on the CPU cover (where the thermal paste is applied), it isn't unique to each CPU and if he did note it down he should have done so on your invoice (that comes with the package) as well.

  • Never buy expensive new things on ebay from individual sellers.
  • Oem cpus so not come in a retail box.
  • All retail cpus will have a intel seal on it. So if box was opened before you will notice it.
  • Why is the serial number and sSpec number covered in 1 of the pics?
  • Post a picture of the label on the cpu box that came with your cpu.

Hello,

Thank you for answering.

Well just like you say here, oem cpus dont come in a retial box, so what do you mean by label on cpu box?

It came in the cardboard tho, not in the skylake box.

The one pic without serial number is from the sellers ebay post.

Thanks!

Okay. Now because they ship you their cpu without a retail box. Your skylake package serial number cannot be used for the 6800k. I assume that retail cpu package and i7 logo sticker is from your skylake cpu.

I took a look at your 6800k and warranty expires in 2019.

I got the small intel book from the 68005 order, the weird this is, it says 3 year warranty.

And OEM cpus have a 1 year warranty right?

Everything on the photo's is from the stuff i got in the package.

This is my first Skylake CPU. ;)

Intel may not ask if it's OEM or not, but the warranty is one year or dependent on the manufacturers of the system. Since you're building it, I would take caution since you only have one year.

Even when it says 3 years on the book? Maybe he gave me a broken retail cpu just without the skylake box.

get a refund, second the seller accuses you of swapping the product you should get your money back and get the fuck away from the seller. Clearly some shady shit.

Intel ask for the serial numbers etc.... on the cpu, i assume they will then be able to check if its oem or not.

Honestly you should have just one from Newegg if you knew it was going to be this much trouble.:P

Speaking of which they have a $70 off sale. That is a steal if you ask me. Only last for 13 more hours though:/

You shouldn't have even gotten a cardboard package with the manual and sticker.

The serial on the cover doesn't have any numbers denoting OEM or not, last I checked. They would require you to check the serial number through the PC by using command prompt to find the unique identifier.

no, but i'm assuming when you give them the number, they enter it and information about the processor shows up, so they know if its oem
