Deepcool 120 broken 1 day

so I bought a deepcool captain 120mm and got it in the mail today, I was so happy, I mount the thing, and a new gpu(rx480) and try to reinstall windows, during installation I hear this loud noise, like a breaking bone, my first thought was shit one of the pipes is leaking, I turn everything of lightnng fast, and then at clooser look I see this shiz, now its fair to preasume that i over thightend the cooler, but honestly, I used a small screwdriver and didnt even have a strong grip on it, I cant say its the coolers falt, but dam man, it should not break like that, not so easly atleast.

That would be hard. You live on an island in the middle of nowhere.

Shouldn't apply so much pressure. TIM is meant to be used to lessen the force of any mount by filling the space between.

True, but it still should break like that. Most other coolers wouldn't break like that.

the arm is broken, i am going to send it back but the downside is that im without a pc for a couple of weeks, and yes they are thumb screws but you can choose what tool you use, a small scredriver used with the tip of my fingers without a strong grip doesnt give you so much more leverage for this kind of result

You don't have a stock cooler or something to use in the meantime? Either way that really sucks though, it definitely shouldn't break like that.

i got a cpu mothorboard combo from my dad, and the motherboard died, so i thought i only needed to buy a new one, but the old cooler had strange mounting system, it doesnt fit a stock amd motherboard, so on blackfriday i ordered a new motherboard and this cooler, its was only 15$ more than an air cooler and its a part that i can take with me to a future cpu upgrade so i thought eh, why not.

Looks like only the CPU block is broken, I would contact Deepcool for an RMA.

And hopefully you have your stock cooler laying around somewhere.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

Until then, look for a small CPU cooler that you can use for now on a store, they shouldn't be too expensive.
