However i wish to do it in a custom loop with something like this

s-l1600.jpg

What would be the best way to do this and with what kit ?

Yes i know i could go waterblock route, but i would honestly love to just mod my Titan's Original Body for this.

Thanks for any help !

You need a full-cover block for Titan X. You can't just remove the stock cooling off of the voltage regulation and VRAM and whatnot and not put anything it it's place.

Not necessarily. He can very well use that GPU core block only. First, you need to find a way to mount it. If that is thermal adhesive, or if that block has the right mounting holes, or good old fashioned metalwork there is definitely a solution.

Second is cooling the VRMs, memory, etc. My personal favourite method (because it's easy) is buying small, individual heatsinks, using thermal adhesive to put them on things that need cooling, and directing airflow at them. That's more than adequate for power delivery and memory (if you don't believe me, look at your motherboard).

If you want to do something like that picture, OP, well tbh just kinda do it. If you have the cooler, take a dremel or an angle grinder, cut the shroud open (unless of course that section can be unscrewed or something), expose the core (you will likely have to dispose of the metal cooling components underneath, may be better to not cut through them and take out the entire pieces, and then mount the block. This will be a much MORE delicate operation. I'd suggest looking into the cooler design/layout to get a better idea of what is under there, and make sure you can get through it without issue.

Main Rig: R9 5950X @ PBO, RTX 3090, 64 GB DDR4 3666, InWin 101, Full Hardline Watercooling

Server: R7 1700X @ 4.0 GHz, GTX 1080 Ti, 32GB DDR4 3000, Cooler Master NR200P, Full Soft Watercooling

LAN Rig: R5 3600X @ PBO, RTX 2070, 32 GB DDR4 3200, Dan Case A4-SFV V4, 120mm AIO for the CPU

HTPC: i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz, GTX 1050 Ti, 16 GB DDR4 3200, AliExpress K39, IS-47K Cooler

Router: R3 2200G @ stock, 4GB DDR4 2400, what are cases, stock cooler

I don't have a problem...

I don't think sticking some small heat sinks would work, the vrms on the titan are actively cooled, in your method you would have small heat sinks with no air over them due to the fact that fan has been removed. And i doubt you would get good enough airflow from the fan/fans in front of the case to cool them properly

Not removing the fan,

Obvs with older titan X and having the shroud put back on.

Theres already a write up on putting a water block under the stock cooler. A guy did it to two cards on his rig. Has a part list and plenty of pics.

then its a simple as getting the dermal, and maybe some right angled fittings to attach to the block, so the tubing comes out the bottom/top instead of the side

You probably didn't realize TitanX maxes out at nearly 400W. You tell me, how may CPUs are there that consume half of that? Thermal-gluing tiny heatsinks on VRM is fine for some cards but not TitanX. It really has to be cooled actively.

Okay, i think maybe nobody is getting what i mean,

I want to do exactly the same as the EVGA Hybrid

But just use a different block instead of one of those AIO Coolers.

Amazon sells copper heat sinks that would work much better.

Okay... Now I get it. The tubing coming out from the top is actually the point... Sure.

Here is an example of a block that would suit your needs: http://koolance.com/video-card-vga-chipset-water-block-gpu-230

Then all you need is to figure out how you want to mount it and go to town. It seems that you can keep the stock cooling for power delivery/memory so that's taken care of.

As for the rest of the loop, well that's a lot more standard, just choose whatever makes you feel tingly inside :)

Haha thanks,

Yeah that whole putting on heatsinks and stuff onto VRM's is a little too far for me.

Hi,

I would have loved to try this and i'm sure it would have looked SOOOO cool and i'm tempted to still do it, However my Girlfriend just bought me an EK Titan X Block For Xmas :) . I might still do this in the future however as it looked extremely beautiful.

Oh god, bless her heart!  I did almost exactly what you are describing with my first 980 and I regret it cause now it'll be a huge pain to resell. I ended up switching to a full block anyhow.  Pics should be in my profile but I'll upload some when I'm not mobile.

Well its a Maxwell Titan X but yeah thank you :D

Yeah i got really lucky when people were moving in on the 1070's and 1080's 2-3 months after launch i found a Titan X (Used but actually never used due to guy not being able to fit 2 Titans in his system) for £330, The Cheapest most basic 1070 here is £350 and for a founders it's £409 so i got really lucky :) !
