Yes, in CPU heavy games. I'd advise getting a 1440 monitor.

core i5 are really good option for 60 fps gaming but if you want high fps or futureproofing a i7 is a must especially for a high end cards such as 980ti SLI

Not bad for gaming at all, but you have way more GPU power left over unused. As for rendering, make sure your program is capable of using such a setup.

should i get an new MOBO and I7 instead of the second card, also then what would be a good MOBO for it, preferred to keep it cheap but good
