i5 6200u vs i7 6500u

The i7 6500u is about $200NZD more expensive then the i5 6200u. Is it worth getting the i7 6500u? I will be using Photoshop.

Looking at benchmark here: http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-6200U-vs-Intel-Core-i7-6500U/m36796vsm36930

It looks like 10% better.

Both are dual core with hyperthreading.

the i5 will be just dandy. This is coming from someone who has an i7 dual core laptop (i7-6650U to be precise).

Seriously, you don't need the i7 unless you're doing CAD or programming stuff.

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

Get the i5. It isn't worth spending that much more for a slight performance bumps.

If the i7 was a quad-core then it would be, but they are both dual cores

Wouldn't bother - the i7 U series are a joke of a CPU to be honest.

And they just unnecessarily kill your battery life faster :(. And generate loads of heat.

I think you already got the answer from other users.

Probbably not worth it.
