Skylake complete for £500

So a friend is upgrading his PC soon and he has a £500 budget for a cpu ram and Mobo, what's the best he can do? he's wanting Skylake and an ATX mobo seen as he's got a full sized case,

This PC is used for gaming mainly at 144hz 1080p, he just wants the best for his money

Both from asus, different in features, all depends on how many USB ports and sata ports he really needs. 

Im afraid he wont be able to fit i7 into the budget because prices in this topic are outdated.

Z170-A is the better board. Seems to be the ASUS favourite as far as budget boards go.
