23.8" Phillips 4k Monitor Due 2014 - Plans for a 28" As Well

EChondo

DVI? No go. DL DVI only goes up to about 33Hz when it comes to 4k resolutions.

Displayport is our only option(and best option ever).

Really? Didn't know, DVI always seemed like an extremely old-seeming connector but people seem to love it so I assumed it was better than HDMI in some way.

But yeah, DisplayPort FTW. I've got DisplayPort output (well, mini DisplayPort technically) and a cable to go with it, but nothing to hook up to the other end...

It is :P HDMI is even worse bandwidth than dual-link DVI. Current HDMI can only do 30Hz at 4K. Dual-Link DVI though should be able to get around 45-50 at 8-bit colors...

4K: Slightly more affordable now.

Looks awesome, but still a bit too pricey for me.

If it has a fast response time and is 1200$ cheaper I would buy in a heartbeat.

No one knows, but I personally doubt we will see 4k G-Sync anytime soon.

Asus has vendor exclusivity (a nice name for a monopoly) on G-Sync monitors until the end of 2014.

So we didn't get a 1440p 24" monitor, but 4K will come in less then 6 months. Mind = Blown

I'd prefer a 2560*1440 or 2560*1600 24" panel over a 4k one, because then I WOULDN'T NEED TO BUY A NEW $500 GRAPHICS CARD TO DRIVE THE DAMN THING!

A 24 inch 4k display...wow.

I wonder what they'll come up with next. 5-inch 4k, that's something I'd like to see.

4k on a 24" screen (19" horizontal width) is about 200 ppi. Or about 50 less than a 1080p 5" phone.

Yeah, I wouldn't get it. I can't find wallpapers to use in 1920x1200, much less 4K.

You do know that the elusive IPS panel is a creation of LG and Philips?

Philips isnt a no name brand, son.

I still want to see how people buying these early models will verify these are actually 4K vs bogus almost 4K displays?

Any of you buying these or some other early phase model 4K, be sure you can verify its actually 4K and not some pseudo 4K monitor.
