I doubt this will sell that much right now. NOt many people will pay $1400 for a monitor and most people do not have GPUs powerful enough to even drive a 4K monitor.

So we didn't get a 1440p 24" monitor, but 4K will come in less then 6 months. Mind = Blown

It's just crazy how stupid that logic is, ain't it?

1440p has never and will never be a very popular resolution. It hasn't until now and 4k is just around the corner, so upgradeing to 1440p now would mean having to upgrade a year lter to 4k, which makes no sense because money and stuff. Of course, some of us PC guys got them because more pixels, but making it a public standard now that 4k is almost here would make no sense at all.

LCD is the part of a screen that determines the colors and intensity, but LCD screens require a backlight. All modern LCD displays use LED backlights, because LEDs are pretty much better than any alternative in every way. TN, IPS, and the various other ones are different configurations of LCDs; I don't know the details, but they're all still LCD screens with LED backlights.

OLED is an entirely separate technology, where each pixel independently illuminates itself. This has the benefit of requiring 0 power to display a black pixel (thus using only part of the screen will consume much less battery) but is more expensive. As for image quality and responsiveness, I think that LCD and OLED can both achieve comparable brightness and color accuracy, but I'm not sure.

An LCD monitor is a two part display.  It uses a large light source behind the panel that shines through constantly, such as a row of LEDs, and the panel itself (called an LCD) which is basically a transparent color filter.  There are many designs of these filters that give different results when the light passes through, and these variations would be your TN or IPS or MVA panels, etc.

OLED does not use a color filter with a light shining through.  It does away with the TN/IPS LCD panel + one giant light behind it to illuminate the whole thing, and instead just has a ton of tiny individual colored LEDs that make up the entire display, with no LCD panel.

Nice, we need more manufacturers to follow suit and start pumping the resolutions up, I know manufacturing relatively large panels at high PPI without defects is difficult but the current PPI levels of most monitors is atrocious.

I'd get it if 1) the casing didnt look like complete butts and 2) I can't convince myself to get a monitor that almost costs the same as my entire computer xD

But... Dat pixel density...

Yeah, I wouldn't get it. I can't find wallpapers to use in 1920x1200, much less 4K.

My ass, I found a lot of 4K wallpapers.
