A dedicated wifi antenna for a phone??!! Sounds stupid but I do actually need help.

So I don't have a ton of money to lay down on FPV gear for my planes so I had an interesting idea. I don't fly super far away as of now so wifi FPV wouldn't be a terrible idea. I fly closer than most wifi FPV quadcopters. I was wondering if adding a wifi antenna to my Blu r1 HD would increase range. I would be adding the antenna via micro USB to USB adapter. Thanks for the help!

Theoretically it should work if you have USB OTG and the right software and drivers for the Wi-Fi stick but i doubt it.

From personal experience; DO NOT I repeat DO NOT use any sort of high latency FPV gear unless you want to feel super dizzy (googles) and crash. Believe me just save some extra money and get some decent FPV gear. Non-specialized wifi video streaming is a bad idea for FPV because of the large amount of encoding/decoding + if you loose a packet your video feed will freeze. For FPV just go analog. I know this sounds aggressive and you will most likely ignore me and try it out anyway, so when you do it fly low, slow and over a soft landing surface (tall grass is nice). Cheers

I now wifi FPV sucks. I don't want to fly FPV, it's to see what it looks like from a plane, fps doesn't matter since I will be flying line of sight. I just want a short range, live camera feed.
