Where did you learn ''how to build a computer''

I'm Batman

The extreme basics from my dad well he didnt teach me I just watched from about 3 feet away he installed a soundblaster 16 and matching soundblaster cd drive. first time I did it was when u upgraded my 486 dx after going to a cmputer with my uncle and saying this whatg I got what ya got to upgrade it. Only took me 13 yr to take computer building serious and research what I want and fully understand theres moreto it than just slapping random parts. I think it was after seing a boat load of linus video that changed me from happy at noob level to enthusiast level as 95% his videos were first in search results

There was this Canadian guy with spiky hair and earrings that did videos with cheesy '80s porn style intro music. I think his name reminded me of Linux. I wonder what he's doing now...

I taught myself. Back when I started there were no computer forums, pc based communities or youtube. In fact there were very little resources, you had to have at least a basic knowledge of how the parts worked in order to know if they were compatible as very little hardware was "universal".  We built computers to be better than the recommended system requirements you find on the side of game boxes.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

My Father taught me how to build a PC since he never wanted to side with name brand PCs on the Market.

I was about 16-17 when I built my first PC for Video editing and started from there as hobby and up to College.

I figured I could probably give it a shot and just read the manuals.

Took me a full day to learn without external help; had a lot of trouble with things like installing motherboard standoffs and the CPU cooler in my first build. The rest seemed pretty self-explanatory.

Came naturally for my first build. Had worked on circuit boards and electrical appliances as a hobby previously.

Just doing it, having common sense plus some teaching as far as safety (grounding, how not to be an idiot etc) went.

I learned it in my living room. Exactly like I learned how to build Lego.

This part fits here, and this one here etc...
