I guess I just one day started messing around with one. It was probably my OEM Fujitsu Siemens-made Pentium 4 where I really got interested, as through my job I was getting a lot of hand-down computer components like RAID cards and stuff. That box lasted me a long time, didn't actually upgrade until Core2Duo E8400.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

New Egg's build guide videos were probably the first videos I watched on how to build one step by step, but I've watched and read a ton of other stuff too.

I had NCIX build my first PC, and by the time I wanted a whole new rig I was well versed enough to do it myself, and it went without a hitch.

Youtube videos from Newegg and Linus in his younger years.

I'm not sure what to think about the fact that I'm the first to also include: www.reddit.com/r/buildapc

We didn't have newegg or youtube wayback then. I bought a full tower pc and it had a micro atx board, I couldn't stand it so I bought Micro atx case and switched it over. Most of my expeirence came latter trying to fix a problem it had, I tried just about everything to fix it. Turns out it was the Maxtor HDD

When I was younger (like 8) I took apart my mom's Dell and put it back together, I just liked taking things apart and seeing where everything went. Now in current times I learn everything from watching youtube videos and dicking around with a ASUS desktop I bought 5 years ago.

The Workstation – Motherboard: ASUS P9X79 WS | CPU: Intel i7-4930k @ 4GHz | GPU: EVGA GTX 780 Superclocked | RAM: 32GB G.Skill RipjawsX 1600MHz | Storage: 250GB Samsung EVO SSD, 3TB WD Green  | PSU: Corsair AX760i

The Server – Motherboard: ASUS M4A78LT-M | CPU: AMD Athlon II X2 240 @ 3.0GHz | RAM: 4GB 1333MHz | Case: Silverstone PS08

The iMac – CPU: Intel i7-2600 @ 3.5GHz | GPU: Radeon HD 6970M 2GB | RAM: 16GB 1600MHz | Storage: Hitachi 2TB 7200RPM

It was never an "Oh wow I can build computers now!" for me. First I started following a few PC youtubers and realized that mouse and keyboard > controler. After that I just stored that information in my head and went on with life. But eventually I was not satisfied with my 2001 dell business laptop and wanted an upgrade(it was time seeing as my laptop monitor was broken and liquid PCB started dripping out the vents on multiple occasions). At this point I already had a decent grasp on how to build a PC but then I started looking into specifically what to actually buy and I just went from there.
