Unigine Valley Benchmark Scores Thread + SUPERPOSITION ***Over 1000 Submissions!***

It never reaches 80c.  Even in Valley it barely gets to 70c and it still down clocks.  It's fine, but that is not how previous boosts used to work iirc.  I imagine there is a custom bios floating around somewhere that addresses all that, I'm ok with it how it is.  Starting at 2101 it down clocks to 2050 and stays there.  If I add volts it goes up to 2124-2136 and then down clocks to 2066-2078.

It doesn't sound like you're convinced of the advice given by @DildorTheDecent, but he's absolutely right. Cool it better via water and it will hold its clocks.  Something as simple as going from 40c to 30c improves my 1080 SLI nicely.  I think 70c to 30c might help you just a little.

If you need further evidence of how well this performs, go to the first post in this thread and open the scores document.  Look all the way up to the very top and you'll find a lot of water cooled GPUs.  It's just how it works.  :D

Not sure how you came to the conclusion that I was doubting his advice.  I am aware of the values of water cooling and understand having it cooler will help with clocks.  I'm just stating that I can remember a day when you set a value it would clock to that if capable and not move until it hit the temp target to start throttling (like cpus do).

What I was saying, and will say again, is that I am fine with the behavior as the performance for me is fine regardless and I am not concerned with water cooling it.  I am aware that water cooling it will help it maintain a higher boost, but even then it will still throttle back some from max.  That is just how gpu boost works now.  I perhaps would if I had the budget, but for now my hybrid system suits me fine.  Maybe with my next build I will do a full custom loop.

Makes sense and thanks for the clarification.

Because to me it makes sense to have a 2000watt aircon next to the pc, for the missus she just doesn't understand why it can't go in the bedroom...

Silent build - You know your pc is too loud when the deaf complain. Windows 98 gaming build, smells like beige

CPU - 6950x @ 4.6 GHz
GPU(s) - EVGA GTX 1080 SLI @ 2100 MHz GPU / 11,729 Mem
Average FPS - (1080 = 179.6) (1440 = 140.9) (2160 = 67.5)
Score - (1080 = 7516) (1440 = 5897) (2160 = 2823)

So learning experience here.  Don't take on too much new stuff at one time!

The 1080s are crippled in Unigine Valley for some reason and even worse in SLI.  Every other benchmark shows a pretty insane increase over my previous 980 Ti SLI, but not Valley.  Valley actually dropped a couple of hundred points in 1080p.  I have no idea how much lower it is in 1440p or 2160p because I never ran them until @Masada02 came up with the new average FPS leader-board, which is cool by the way.  At this point, I'm sure that it's driver related, but only time will tell.  Oh well, what can you do?  Still seems like a competitive setup.  :D

I'll continue to work on it, but until then, I just wanted to get in on this average FPS leader-board.

Apparently, he doesn't realize that if you search "Unigine Valley", "Valley, "Valley Benchmark" or anything similar, it pulls images from ALL over the internet to include LTT.

1 hour and 10 posts into being a member of LTT, without knowing anyone or what's been posted over a half a year ago and he's already doing his best to contribute valuable shit to the community.  I love the internet.

I have my fun. Maybe too much fun. Luckily the fun police haven't shown up yet.

I need to go do a road race so I can have all the fun without getting in trouble.

@Masada02

@Jumper118   Gents, can we update each resolution independently for the leaderboard?  If I just want to update my 1080p score on the LB, can I do that without submitting a 1440p and 4k since they've already been submitted?  Thanks
