The older laptop screens use the same LVDS connector as modern monitors. Your best bet for re-purposing a laptop screen is to find a cracked monitor and just nab the controller

hmmmm I might have to try that.... IF I can find some :P monitors i can find so far are all being sold for absurd amounts... $10 20 30 40 100..... wtf...
