It'll probably get pretty hot and loud. I know my Stealth Pro does and its basically the same specs. Desktop class CPU 6700HQ, Dedicated 1060, and 32GB of ram

That's what I'm thinking but supposedly it has an "Innovative thermal design" so we'll see.

My wife could learn a thing or two from it.

This laptop gives me hope for maybe a 1060 in the Xps 15

that is not going to happen.

a 1060 is hotter than a 970m and there is a reason why the XPS 15 has a 960m, because they care about temps. It should most likely be updated to a 1050, maybe a 1050ti, but most likely a 1050.

Also that Aero is hot, really really hot, the 970m version thermal throttles, so this one will thermal throttle.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M

yet another reason to just say fuck it and get a business laptop, because so few normal laptops seem to be okay.

MSI should capitalize on their WS series. Offer me a GS63VR without the branding like Origin has with a slightly redesigned chassis, MUX switch and bigger battery. Boom. Market captured.

I agree, even though you would have to threaten to kill my family before I would ever use one.

I've been reading that the Xps 15 throttles even with the 960m. I guess I have to get a fat laptop if I want decent performance lol

only some. The XPS 15 is a bit weird, sometimes the heatsink isn't properly on and then the temps goes up a lot, but if you get one where it is perfectly on then temps are fine

It's hellllla weird. Some work some don't. Basically, open it up and see if the heatsink is touching the dRAM. Also Dell stock paste is the worse thing of life. Take example of the AW17. Stock paste that thing is HOT. But repasted with Gelid or CLU and it's like the best thermally performing BGA laptop outside of GT73VR
