What do you think of these specs?

So, I've been browsing around for a 2 in 1 laptop, and I've found this project called "Eve V".

So, my question is; what sort of performance can I expect from this? I presume it is going to be good enough to browse and use Microsoft office without any issues; but is it good enough for some light gaming like Garry's Mod or Counter Strike? 

 

Considering the price this is likely to be, would you recommend anything over it?

if you get the i7 or i5 version, cs go at 30-60 fps should be fine

Performance will fine, its a U cpu, so look up benchmarks of any other ultra book to get a idea.

 

 

Id probably buy a lenovo yoga or a surface or a macbook pro.

Umm this means essentially nothing as their are slow i7s and fast i7s so it will depends on the letters at the end, and given that it looks tablet like I'll guess it will have a power saving sku (U probably) so it isn't very strong but the tasks you mention are not very demanding either so it will come down to igpu and ram

 

Apparently the cpu is absolute garbage performance wise be happy if it plays minesweeper while browsing

I would highly suggest you kick the eve idea right now.  Its an indigogo project and from the looks of their staff they are all young probably out of college and wont finish at all and if they do it will probably be junk.  I have seen a lot of tech stores trying to clean out laptops with last gen GPUs in them so you might be able to snag a decent one with a GPU pretty cheap.

Sure you could theoretically play gmod or csgo assuming that this isnt clocked at -1ghz. To say "best-in-class battery life" is huge and knowing its going to be a indiegogo campaign it probably will not come through with what they're claiming.

The specs page said 48 watt hour i think, which isn't exactly groundbreaking

It's a 4.5W Y-class CPU. It's a renamed Core M - for Kaby Lake the m5 is an i5 and the m7 is an i7

I doubt it will reach 30fps in CSGO even at 720p

Well that is even worse than what I expect fortunately I didn't claim it would be strong, but seriously 4.5W cpu isn't going to do crap

Linus' vid of the Swift 7 shows that the Y-class CPUs are around 25-30% slower than the previous U-class ones

It's safe to assume that it will have a Y-class CPU. If so then this thing is worthless and they're just trying to swindle people into the "hype." I'm sure many people will not realise this until they announce the actual specs for this.

Well for 4.5W that isn't that bad considering you could probably power it for a while on AA batteries

I like how the page even says that the 4W speakers are almost as much power as the CPU... that's not a good thing
