If you're spending $185 on a CPU, you might as well aim for a Core i5-6500.

Ah fuck, didn't notice that.

Honestly, to OP, you might as well get DDR4 RAM so you can do that. I don't see a reason not to.

at this point in time i cant suggest you buy either tbh...

i'd rather push you towards something like this instead: (implying in OP that you're gonna buy a mobo either way

that's intel's theory, and then mobo manufacturers wiped the floor with that concept afaik.

It's still a good match for your R9 270X though...but once you go to faster GPU it will hold you back...forever.

As they told you above, don't buy an A10 if you are going to use a discrete GPU. In that case, get an FX or, for the FM2+ socket, an Athlon II x4 (something like the 860k or similar). You will save money due to the lack of iGPU, which you don't need.

Any FX83XX would be a better choice then the APU, its more power hungry but it also performs better, but be careful when choosing a motherboard for it, especially if you plan to overclock it.

Thanks. I don't have any plans to overclock the CPU or gpu for a while. I want to see what it can do right out of the box. Down the road I'll probably do a light overclock. As stated I'm not a hardcore gamer so I don't need the fastest speeds I can get from it. I want it to last. I want it to be a decent but kind of a low budget system.thats why no Intel CPU or changing to ddr4 ram and stuff.
