Whats the best Power supply between these 2?

I have a Gigabyte Z97x Gaming 3 mobo, i7-4790k, Corsair H100i GTX, 16GB ram 8x2 1600, Zotac AMP! Extreme GTX 970, 2 1tb Hitachi HDDs, 1 Samsung 840 EVO 250gb SSD. My Corsair HX750 Power supply is dying i think. After i start my computer it does fine till i get into a game then about 5 to 10 mins in it will just shut of like it was unplugged then restart. It doesn't    always act like that tho. Sometimes it will run for a few hours fine. So i took the side panel off and plugged a Corsair CX500 and it ran fine for 24 hours with no issues. So i have 2 extra power supply's I have a --

OCZ700MXSP 700 watt

+5V-25A / +3.3V-25A  150W

+12V1-25A / +12V2-25A  552W

-12V-0.3A  3.6W

+5VSB-2.5A  12.5W

Corsair CX500 500 watt

+3.3V-25A / +5v-20A  130W

+12V-34A  408W

-12V-0.8A 9.6W

+5Vsb-3A 15W

What one of these should I use and yes I know I should get a new 750 watt prem PSU but this is what i have now. I own both of these already

Both are TIER 4

I guess go with  more wattage but there is no need for that. Go with what is cheaper. I would get a CXM if you don't want another unfortunate situation

i would not reward corsair with my money after seeing what happened to a mates CX series after 12 months. The PSU made odd noises like the fan was loose but we couldnt find what was actually making the noise. Antec makes good PSU. Iv got one that still silent, i think i bought it in 2009

No, the ModxStream is a tier 5. I think the Modxstream is DSA-II, so it is very similar to the Corsair CX (DSA-III)

Duh. antec didnt make PSU.

Are you saying that antec doesn't sell PSUs? They do, I have one and I am using it.

If you are saying the Antec doesn't make their PSUs? Most PSU brands don't make PSUs.

CX v3 is tier 4. I assume his CX is a V3.

Use the CX first for the moment since its more appropriate in terms of wattage but if u didnt really care about it then use that OCZ. because CX is a budget PSU.

i suggest you should buy a new one right away like evga g2 or SP leadex.

at the moment the corsair hx750 is running and hasn't shut off im wondering if it could be a short in the power cable since i think this cable was funky. hmmm

It's a tier 4 unit. It'll get the job done for a 970 for the time being but is your HX750 not still under warranty...?

Did you touch anything inside that could have killed it? Taking the top off shouldn't really void the warranty unless you touched components inside that could have risked the unit. It would be dumb, for example, to have your warranty voided for your car if you opened up the hood and changed the wiper fluid, for example.

Antec PSUs are made by a lot of companies. Here is a very small sample size (Not a complete list): FSP, Seasonic, Delta, CWT.

i said they didnt make their own psu just like corsair who didnt make anything at all...they have their own OEM.

Yes, you didn't say they don't sell PSUs, but when someone says "x brand makes good PSUs?" you don't need to nit-pick them and confuse them.

Quote

Antec psu are made by seasonic and the other.

And Delta, CWT, FSP, Enhance.
