RAMDisk, VMs, content creation, brag.

Come Bloody Angel

Break off your chains

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

The blood is on your hands

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.

Everybody turns to dust.

The blood is on your hands.

The blood is on your hands!

I would say VMs but your CPU and hard drives are not very good for more than a few VMs IMO. I guess a RAM disk might be your best bet.

Depending on the hypervisor and the guest OS, it could be a decent rig. I get decent performance in my Linux Mint XFCE VM with Hyper V.

Does more ram help you while doing backflips in a jet fighter while playing Crysis 3?

PC - NZXT H510 Elite, Ryzen 5600, 16GB DDR3200 2x8GB, EVGA 3070 FTW3 Ultra, Asus VG278HQ 165hz,

Mac - 1.4ghz i5, 4GB DDR3 1600mhz, Intel HD 5000.  x2

Endlessly wishing for a BBQ in space.

Running more than a few VMs without RAID is a bad idea. The rebuild process, even with file backups, is painful if you have a hard drive failure.

That depends on what the VMs are for and how one uses them. My VMs are usually for built in utilities of certain operating systems that aren't available in Windows, or for testing distros for machines less powerful than the VM.

^ if you need to ask, you don't need all that RAM. I have 24GB in my system and intentionally abused Chrome and left DaVinci Resolve open as I played a game just to use all my RAM-- still didn't hit 20GB

He also bought a 400gb PCIe ssd, I think he's one of those people with more money than sense.

Also, look at his reply:

" no i did not, bud. "

After asking what programs use 64GB of ram xD

6850k instead of 6800k on a non-SLI rig.... children in Africa could have eaten those extra PCIe lanes

Yeah, but thing of how many Intel PCIe x8 4TB SSDs he could run. They're cheap, only $8,000 per.
