I need help researching different types of RAM

I need someone to research different types of RAM, compare their performance and cost per GB

I also need help researching different types of RAM, their speeds and costs then make a table about it.

Step one: Ddr4 for new sh*t, ddr3 for older sh*t, ddr2 for dinosaur sh*t.

step two: Buy the kit that looks nicest

What I'm trying to say is that ram especially ram speed makes less of a difference than most people make it out to. If you have 8+gb of whatever your system supports you will be fine for almost any scenario.

no it's homework for computer science

Also the difference in price between generations is basically negligible, you should always be paying around $40 per 8gb if buying new.

Like DDR RAM and SRAM and DRAM stuff like that

You can read about some impact RAM may, or may not, have on gaming.

IC - Internal Circuitry

Flash memory

Memory Controllers (CPU)

Heat and Voltage

You can cover a bunch of different intricacies regarding the differences in RAM-by-generation.

Stuff you could look into:

DDR type (4, 3, 2 mainly)

RAM Timing

Frequency

Heatspreaders (and how they are not necessary for non overclockers)

ECC vs. Unbuffered memory

Single vs. Dual vs. Quad channel

RAM Disks

SODIMM

EDIT: DDR3 vs DDR3L is kinda fun to look into too

There's ALLOT of different ram types, ill try to to build a list of some of the most common

That's why

You type some stuff in google, check if its what its needed for, highlight it, CTRL + C, CTRL+ V

AND BOOM, you got a presentation

I pointed to a thread to help him understand methodology.  The OC'ers there do these tests for fun.

I indicated a few areas that affect the performance of RAM.

He can get to work.

Yes he does, how are you gonna get a grasp on RAM performance if you haven't looked into something like RAM timings? That's like making a table of bicycle speeds without first knowing what a gear on a bike is.

1. I think they want you to look at benchmarks comparing DDR3 and DDR4

2. This is probably gonna have to link back to the previous question, but this is also where you go and take a look at the different DDR3 and 4 modules and look what performs better and why (the timing for example)

3. Pretty simple question

If hes doing a Presentation for a school project i highly doubt there just gonna care about gaming performance

Use the left side to filter:

Your project is easy.  It is better if you get an understanding beyond what the project requires.  In doing so, you get smarter and will most likely impress the teacher if you can figure more out than him/her.

Now you're just implying I mentioned gaming performance at all (which I didn't).
