Router: Pentium G3220, 8GB Ram, No idea what board,250 Watt PSU, 320gb Seagate Drive

 Come back and ask then.. But i3 is your best bet or save more for an i5 combo. Maybe zen will be out by then.

I would go used in that price range. Something like a used it 3470 and lga 1155 combo. You should be able to comfortably get into an i5 if you are willing to go used.

Go for any Z170 motherboard with a cheap i5 or i3.

I'm not sure something can be under and 216 and exactly 216 at the same time. Those events are mutually exclusive. Maybe your looking for ≥216? If you are then go for an i5 used, if you want something new i3 or see if Zen is good.

The 8350 will be better in multihreaded tasks using eight threads or more (rendering, video editing) the i5 is better for singlethreaded performance (gaming, desktop use).

Yes, most likely it will perform between an i3 and an i5, depending on how multithreaded the game is.
