First-Generation iPhones are Now Collector's Items worth thousands

Apple first gen iphone was released in 2007 and only 6 year have pass and now we have it spiking up to thousands of dollars. You should keep your old phones because apples first gen iphones are now going for sale for thousands of dollars. It is not considered a collector's item. So if you have any old iphones don't destroy them or throw them away, they can soon be worth a lot.

To be honset nobody will buy it, well not yet

The first iPhone – the iPhone 2G – is now being advertised as a collector's item on eBay. One sold on eBay last month for $1999. 

Yes, the antiquated first generation iPhone, useless now, is seeing its stock rise. I f you have one in mint condition, you may be able to pocket a quick $1,000 or more. 

But we've learned people will buy anything. For context, you could walk into the Apple Store and buy a brand new iPhone 5S (without a contract) for $699. Proof that rare (albeit pretty useless) items are of great value to some.

Time will tell if these phones will actually sell. There are currently eight iPhone 2Gs for sale on eBay.

I would be kicking myself if I had a 2G. Fortunately, the one and only iPhone I've ever owned was a 3G.

I still have mine but its in pretty bad condition. Two dead spots and the back is scratch up, and no original packaging.  <_<

nah its been there for like 4 months and if I go early I have a strong chance its not a very well known store.

Damn. Makes me wish I took better care of mine. I had a large crack and the screen was getting a bit wonky in some areas when I sold it. Managed to get $100 for it and this was right before the iPhone 4 came out. Like the article says, some people will buy anything.
