Hy everyone, in bulding a new pc, and I'm stuck whit the motherboard. I don't know if the maximus viii hero is going to be better then the z170-a for my i5-6600K, and my ASUS strix gtx1060. I Will do overclock. Can someone help me. Thanks ?

Unless you have an I7, you don't need a Maximus board.

They are just a gimmick for people with lots of money.

Really, the ASUS Z-170A will overclock just as well as their most expensive Z170 board.

Ive built 3 high end PC's, one even reaching $2300, and ive still always used the Z170-A. Its such a great board

In this case it doesn't really matter. You will be able to reach the same frequencies with both mobo's. I would suggest to go for z170 & save some money.

The Maximus Hero basicly has a better vrm.

And if you are realy a overclocker who likes to fine tune overclocks, you will get better experiance with it.

Is there any difference between the z170-a and the z170 Pro. Not pro gaming.
