It's also useless for me because these typing tests are actually testing both your typing and transposing skills at the same time.

When I had to write essays in school I could type between 65 and 90 WPM because the ideas flowed out of my head.

Transposing someone else's writing in these typing tests is much slower. Oh, and All-The-Write-Type made me hate alfalfa.

 

 

What's funny is my WPM went from 40 to 47 as soon as I realized I was typing out the lyrics to a song from the movie Grease.

 

This only proves that typing tests are worthless from a pure "how fast can you type point of view" because we can type our own thoughts much faster than we can transpose someone else's. Now, don't get me wrong: If you're applying to be a medical transcriber, where your job is literally transposing data from one format to another, then this kind of test is very important. Otherwise, we're all going to get different results every time.

I am a little bit slow but when I go fast I make mistakes and hell I think and type much faster than copying from a screen but anyways I got 43 WPM with 3 Errors

I vary between 70 and 80 wpm, so this is a pretty good average, mech keyboard, MX browns

 

btw, this is me going back and correcting mistakes as I make them as I know when I make them and wouldn't leave them if I was actually typing this for something. So that would also slow me down a little, if I was going to rely on auto correct I could probably type faster.
