Ad Blocker Plus and Twich

Donut417
Go to solution Solved by AresKrieger,

Ublock origin is the best blocker I've found, works for twitch

Ive noticed recently that Ad Blocker Plus doesn't work in Twitch any more. I absolutely hate ads. This is the reason I dont watch TV. Well unless its food ads, then Id give them some slack. Any way I noticed that Ad Blocker Plus no longer blocks ads on twitch. Any one else having issues? Im wondering if there is a work around. If not Ill just start watching the WAN show on Vessel or Youtube. I know some people have issues with people who use Ad Blocker, but I have had Facebook ads attempt to give me virus's. So fuck off advertisers for not doing their homework. If I want to watch ads Ill go back to watching broadcast TV.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Poor college student here. Im living on my aid money.

Then just sit through the 15 seconds of ad before the stream starts?

It's not that hard. And you don't get viruses from twitch ads.

Linus doesn't even run ads during the stream...

It does it after the stream starts. Thats the issue. All ads do for me is make me not buy the product.

Ok, so what?

It's just one 15 second ad. Nobody is forcing you to watch it or buy the product.

Just sit through the 15 seconds like everybody else does.

And btw the ads only run when you first go to the stream, there are no in-stream ads at all. So unless you repeatedly leave the stream and go back you won't see any more ads after the first one.

I haven't had to watch an ad in 10 years. Aint going to start now. If twitch did a little banner ad like LinusTechtips does, then I wouldn't have an issue. But they do any annoying commercial. Some might say Im an asshole. But I hate advertising and I dont trust really trust any ads after a Facebook ad attack my system.

Unless you clicked on an ad it can't attack your system.

It's called "safe browsing practices"...

There is nothing wrong with ads on twitch, it is literally just a 15 second video that plays before you watch the stream.

You're telling me you're afraid that a 15 second video is going to infect your PC? Do you even know how viruses work?

And people need to make a living off ads, which is something you as a "poor college student" should sympathize with.

I went to facebook.com and AVAST bitched that an ad was attacking my system. So yeah.

Do you know what a false positive is?
