1.4+ VCore on non-OC 6500

After checking my temps I noticed that my CPU VCore fluctuated between 1.424 and 1.488. This rang a bell thinking that most OCers get 4GHz on 1.25. I haven't overclocked this chip at all and haven't touched any settings in the BIOS except my boot drive and the time. I also haven't overclocked the RAM. My CPU is running at 100% 24/7 because of F@H and runs at 3.30GHz. Is this safe? Thanks!

So, uh, where is it that the thing is running at 1.4v? Because both voltage and temps are telling us otherwise.

It could be hw monitor is reading it correctly as well, CPU-Z doesn't read my voltage properly, says 1.18v under load, whilst my BIOS is set to 1.425 and hw monitor displays 1.424v.

this is a stock i5 6500 so 1.1v seems way more realistic than 1.4v+

Looking at his temps it's probably 1.1v~, I think maybe best option would be to run Aida for a minute or so and see how hot it gets, if ~50-75c then yeah for sure 1.1v.

i also considered it might have melted the stock cooler if it was running at 1.4v  i dont think they even have copper cores any more

yeah thats definitely 1.1v. if it was at 1.4v it would be 90c+ and thermal throttling on the stock cooler.
