Should I try to make myself look like a dick at an apple store?

iamdarkyoshi

I'm afraid the charge will be just the same as a new gorgeous MacBook.

At least you have a MacBook.
Mine had no battery
the speakers where broken
the dvd rom was dead,
had a straight red line (top to bottom) in the monitor.
and the charger was a chinese duplicate. But it was alive
Now, all of it is dead.

I think it depends on the model.  If I remember right either an early or mid 2009 MacBook is supposedly still allowed according to Apple.  A quick google search would confirm the exact minimum model.

The aluminum Macs are all still supported, nothing older is.

Glad to hear it worked out. I'm not surprised though, the Apple store/support is very accommodating. I've still yet to pay for a replacement charger (and I've exchanged at least eight in the last ten or so years due to them being stupidly fragile -- and all were done out of warranty. Although, unfortunatley, I might have to pay to replace my current one if it doesn't last until I go home as there is no Apple store near me).
