Will a i5 6400 bottleneck a gtx 1070 running triple 1080p screens or will I need a 6600k?

Doesn't the bottleneck occur the same even if you have 3 or 1 monitors?

Nope because the graphics card has to work harder and has less frames

Well if he runs a game on all 3 monitors the GPU will have more work to do and the CPU bottleneck will be lessened. If he just runs a game on 1 monitor it will bottleneck.

Thanks bro! So from my understanding if you had 1 AMD card rather then your GTX 1070 you couldn't have done the triple monitor right?

Triple 1080p screens is an interesting choice for a 6400. 

 

I'd go with the 6600k and if you have the cash just spring for the 6700k.

6400 is low-clocked and crappy. it will likely cause issues. Get a 6500 minimum if gaming at 3 1080p screens. If gaming on one screen, i7.

No? AMD Eyefinity allows for 6 monitors whereas Nvidia surround is limited to 3.

Or a cheaper alternative for the i7 would be a Xeon 1230 V5. Will require a different chipset though.

If gaming on all 3 - you should be fine-ish. If gaming on only 1 - bottleneck city.

Will you always be running all games on 3 monitors? I would go with a Xeon E3 1230 V5 to eliminate bottlenecks with 1 monitor. It will require a different chipset though.

Yeah Even a 6600k bottleneck. I will be gaming on 3 monitors so I think Im fine
