Is the RX 490 even in the VEGA family?

How much do you think it is gonna cost?

Is it worth waiting for?

Is it gonna be close to the 1070 or the 1080?

Is it just 2 rx 480s on one card like they did in past

Like the others said, we don't really know if there'll be an RX 490 and if it'll be part of Polaris or Vega.

Or if an RX 490 will ever be a thing, it could be the R9 590/R9 590X or RX 590 for all we know.

well AMD did leak that the rx 490 will be a thing before december. Not sure if vega or not

Dell was having a $600 off sale for the fully specced out model, so I decided to get it :P

 

-Crapbook

Fully specced out early 2013 Macbook "pro" with gt 650m and constant 105c temperature on the CPU (GPU is 80-90C) when doing anything intensive...

A 2013 laptop with a regular sized battery still has better battery life than a 2017 laptop with a massive battery! I think this is a testament to apple's ability at making laptops, or maybe how little CPU technology has improved even 4+ years later (at least, until the recent introduction of 15W 4 core CPUs). Anyway, I'm never going to get a 35W CPU laptop again unless battery technology becomes ~5x better than as it is in 2018.

Apple knows how to make proper consumer-grade laptops (they don't know how to make pro laptops though). I guess this mostly software power efficiency related, but getting a mac makes perfect sense if you want a portable/powerful laptop that can do anything you want it to with great battery life.

MOST likely and im willing to bet $10 of my money to say that Vega will be the FURY lineup, itll be like FURY, FURY X2 etc and they may cut those down to make a 490? idk but pretty sure those will be the new fury's but really is there a point? Before this whole dx 12 and vulkan thing i was really looking forward to new AMD gpus going toe to toe with nvidia on dx 11 but thats sadly NEVER GOING TO BE THE CASE. It was explained by a bunch of devs that the overhead AMD has with their dx 11 is too damn high? Their GPU;s have been more powerful than Nvidias always but since their Dx 11 drivers suck so much cok they are always worse. With dx 12 and vulkan thats all changing as its much more access to the direct GPUs amd will be very competitive especially the older cards like 390x which will be on par with way higher nvidia cards but thing is no ONE CARES ABOUT THIS MAGICAL FUTURE.... it takes so damn long for this industry to adopt a new API its actually hepatitis b inducing. Once you see your favorite games using dx 12 and vulkan then and only then would i and many others go to AMD because itll be cheaper and same performance as high end nvidia. But as of now all the good games are on dx 11
