Are you running single core cinebench? cause that's super slow :/

The E8400 runs away with it at like 260 but the cache makes a big difference

Nope, both cores getting used.... I was going to say it seems kind of slow for both the E2160 and E5200, is there a setting I need to set within Cinebench cause I have not used it in a while.

no- the only suggestion I have is to disable speedstep, but I wouldn't suggest running it on a daily OS install as crap does slow it down a lot. I'll give me E5200 a whirl in a few mins and see what I get..

Ok did some more looking, Windows update was running in the background... Going to finish these updates and re-run it on both the E2160 and E5200.

Windows update should be disabled for a test bench ;)

Disable any startup items & non MS services really.

Yea just re-ran it on the E2160 @ 2.8Ghz and got a score of 91, better than the E5200 @ 3.2Ghz so something was wrong, going to mess around with it more still and make sure windows is all up to date seeing this is a semi-new install.

Is your 2160 a good clocker? Mine managed 3.3 :)

You should be looking at like 110 for 2.8

Jumper has bought a fast one.

So far it looks like a great overclocker, I think i am limited by my motherboard though.... still getting over my 780i not wanting to work cause I know I could push the hell out of this chip if it worked :( I just got an E5300 out of an old HP slimline Friday so that is also another chip I got to mess with later. Running Cinebench again after stopping services and updates and looking a lot better than before.

This looks a lot better, you are creeping me out with being 1 off from what the actual score was @harrynowl :P

I'm generally pretty good at figuring out score scaling, @Gofspar ran a bench and I said at X clock you'll get 200k and literally a few seconds later he got 200K :P

Very cool :D Just threw the Q6600 in so any guess of what to expect at 2.8Ghz and even 3?

Around 290 for 3 (probably closer to 295) and I'd say 280-285 for 2.8

Alright your on, let's see if I can even get that high on this chip & motherboard first I guess

Yea I am going to re-run it in a bit, need to optimize Windows more like I did for the Pentium to squeeze more out of the results :P

This is basically what I ended up with. A6-3650 at 4Ghz, I could probably push it further though I am on a stock HP Motherboard lol so upping the voltage is a no no, when I get my i3-6100 overclocked I will post those scores also. Though I wont have that for a minimum 2 weeks

How does one simply optimize Windows? Haha
