Well, they look and feel nice with super OP cooling compared to other laptops... My friends home burnt down in the beginning of December, everything in his room besides a M17x, his GTX 660ti, and his HDD in his main rig was gone... That M17x may or may not have a i7 and sli 770Ms... When he plays LoL 90% of the time.

Yeah the worst thing about this laptop now is the HDD its a WD Scorpio balck and it has alot of issue when booting and randomly crashing of stupid things like Hibernation file size

put a cheapish 250gb ssd in and solve that, you'll have a nice loptop then.

If my Tecra m5 is anything to go by, you'll find that your laptop will go from just being another alienware to a machine that feels insanely fast. (Though for me that was under Windows XP, Windows 7 runs on a Core Duo but not too well-the CPU bottlenecks everything, and it was literally the second best mobile CPU in early 2006).

Fresh Win 7 Ultimate x64 Install and I snatched up R11.5 hardware first for the P8600

its 1.65v. and it can do 4.7ghz on 1.4v, which isn't too bad at all. it just scales badly.

This mod applies to most, if not all, Intel socket 775 CPU’s that use a 800MHz or 1066MHz FSB.

What is a BSEL mod?

A BSEL mod allows a CPU to be run at a higher speed via hardware modification, without changing any settings in software (Either the BIOS or via software such as SetFSB). Most motherboards (See notes for more about this) use voltage/ground from the pins on a CPU to determine the CPU’s FSB. The idea of a BSEL mod is to physically connect pins on a CPU, to make the motherboard ‘think’ that the CPU has a higher FSB than it actually does.

For example, the Intel Pentium Dual Core E2160 CPU (1.8GHz) has an FSB at 800MHz, a bus speed of 200MHz and a multiplier of 9 to give the CPU its speed of 1.8GHz (200 x 9). Now, if the pins on the CPU are connected like a CPU with a FSB of 1066MHz, the bus speed would now be 266MHz, and the CPU would now run at 2.4GHz (266 x 9).
