Need Some Assistance (More Beyond My Control)

Derykey

Hey, I have a little bit of a major problem to reaching internet speeds...

I am using a netgear router to connect over to my Modem from my Cable Co. (Because that is what i can only get (Don't Hate))

I am supposed to be getting near 200Mbps with 20 upload and with the router i am getting nearly 3/4 of the speed slower then i should be getting, (Usually 40-70 With 1mbps upload) does anyone know a solution to getting that speed to be what i need?

Here is the last speed test i did

what models are your modem and router. you could try connecting a laptop or something directly to the modem and see what speeds you get. the router or modem could be a bottleneck.

The Modem is a SMC D3CM1604
Router is a WNDR4700

In Reply: Did it before and got the exact 200Mbps download

How are you connecting to the router from your computer? Via wire or wireless?

should easliy handle 200Mb. is your connection wired or wireless? if wireless, how far away are you from the access point?

Your hardware should be able to handle the promised speeds, but can you try testing a computer directly wired to the modem to rule out it being a problem with router settings?

I have TWC as well and the 200 down should have an upload of 20.

The top three packages are:

100/10

200/20

300/20
