LG PF1000U Short Throw Projector

We have a 60 inch projection paper thing but have been too low on money to buy a quality projector so this would finally let us use the screen.

Oh, that costs more than some people's whole computer :D

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

I'd love to see a 4k+ version of this, 200" @ 1080p looks to be just a wee bit grainy for my taste.

Yeah, displays have to be at least.... 12 dpi before I will consider buying them.

I guess it all depends how far away you sit.  That's why to get a truly useful measurement, it makes sense to rate it in pixels per degree rather than inch, because if it's a huge display but you sit really far back, that's the same as being up close to a tiny display.

This projector looks amazing! Me and my dad have been using a 3 year old projector to play games on and it is awful so having this to take wherever would be awesome.

Pardon if it was said/is obvious, but what warehouse did they use? The current LMG office before they moved in a year(or more(?)) years ago, and this was delay released until the projector was ready for the consumer? Or do they have access to a different warehouse.

I like that LG put all of that functionality in a 2.2 kg package that is also small.

I appreciate the qualify short, but outside of editing, it's not exactly special except that you threw it in a backpack (which isn't exactly hard or super unique or inventive, unlike a the broadcasting backpack you did earlier.) Come on: a projector with no review of the image quality, even remotely? I want to see either some inventive demo outside of the advertised purpose that makes me say "Wow, that's something cool I'd love to buy!" or an evaluation of how well it works to it's advertised purpose. I appreciate the giveaway too (though I don't think I'll be entering), and I think it's neat, but the number of times I've wanted a short throw projector over (more importantly) a portable and bright one (difficult combo, I know) with good colors is very limited. Still fun though. Feels a little sell-outy tho, even if it's not.

@CPotter you may want to edit the OP to mention that this is just a discussion of the product, or whatever it is :P ie, that the thread where you enter the giveaway is not this one ;)
