How to fix my absolute sh*t internet speeds?

My internet is so ridiculous slow right now, and has been for the past 3 weeks. I am using cable, and here's a screenshot of a speed test.

I mean, is your router and modem fine? Have you tried power cycling.

What was the speed before?

 

The sad thing here is, that's close to my normal internet speed.

That is about what I get on a good day. Restart router, make sure no devices are online, what do you normally get?

Who is your ISP and what sort of speed do they advertise/guarantee?

 

If your local equipment is good and you are not getting the kind of speeds they promise then there may be issues the ISP needs to address - like too many customers on a node, or poor signal strength on your loop.  High temperatures can also reveal marginal capacity, which may explain the recent change.

 

Have you called them for a service check?

I use CIK Telecom, they advertise 25 mps down, don't know about up.

I called them and they didn't do sh*t, they just told me to reset my modems and routers.

my routers should be good because i upgraded pretty recently.

First things first:

 

What is your actual Internet Plan? What speed package are you paying for? (Both Download and Upload)

 

I know you mentioned earlier that your speedtest used to reach 10/1.5, but we need to know the actual package you're paying for as well.

 

Assuming the Modem/Router are pretty new, defect free, and have been power cycled recently, then in all likelihood, the issue is probably with the ISP itself.

 

Your best bet is to contact the Customer Support line for your ISP, complain about slow speeds, and ask them to do some line testing.

If they told you to reset your devices, and the problem still persisted, what did you do then? You should have told them the problem still persisted, and ask for additional testing. If the tech on the line cannot help you because they lack indepth technical knowledge, ask to speak to a level 2 tech (or a supervisor/manager)

Call them back and tell them exactly that.  Most ISPs have crap front line customer service people - they are minimum wage and just follow the decision tree and a script.  You need to be polite, but firm and persistent.  You are not receiving what they promise, and eventually they will have to address it.

Could be routing tables. I had this happen and my ping was 2000ms and speeds were in the double digits as in kilobits for 4-8 days. Called them they said nothing was wrong so I went to a website and found my problem
