PS Vita second analogue stick, what's it for?

EmmaMay

Hi, I'm thinking of picking up a PS Vita as they seem to be more affordable these days (second hand), I was just wondering what's the second analogue stick mainly used for, if anyone knows of any games where I could see some gameplay on YouTube that would be most appreciated, thank you :)

Like this. How the analogue stick is being used will depend on how the game utilises it.

i5 2400 | ASUS RTX 4090 TUF OC | Seasonic 1200W Prime Gold | WD Green 120gb | WD Blue 1tb | some ram | a random case

aiming/camera controls just like any game pad

so games like Killzone its for aiming, in uncharted its for looking around and aiming etc

Think of it as a PS3 controller, 2 sticks, dpad, 4 face buttons, start, select, L1+R1 (L2 and R2 are on the touchpad)

Same basic thing as the second thumbstick on the DualShock, DualShock 2, DualShock 3/SixAxis, DualShock 4... And considering the Vita can act as a second gamepad  for the PS3/PS4 or even Remote Play games from the PS3/PS4 using the Vita's screen (provided the gamedevs don't lock you out of doing so. Yu-Gi-Oh: Legacy of the Duelist on the PS4 can use the Vita for Remote Play, but DC Universe Online on both PS3 & PS4 refuses to load if you're using Remote Play).

Yeah, kinda obvious what I use my Vita for when I'm not playing Persona 4: Golden on it, innit? xD

Note to self: Look for replacement battery for Vita, current battery is showing its age and lucky to get more than 6 hours out of a full charge. >.>;

I need to use mine more :(
