I also probably wouldn't go for a logisys power supply. They arn't known for being all that great tbh. A CX430 power supply or even the 500B from EVGA would be probably be just fine. Other than what @don_svetlio said above and what I said, there shouldn't be any issues at all. Just search around for some better power supplies and see what people are saying about them, you really don't need a ton for this system.

1866 versus 1600 is such a small jump though. Any board with XMP will probably allow you to jump 1600 up to 1866.

I'd say do some research and see what kind of ram OCs the best. If you can get some 1600 sticks up to 2000, or even 2200, then you'd be golden.

Agreed, dual channel and 1866mhz RAM is like a few cents/dollah more expensive but you'll get a bit more performance and for the budget you have, it's a pretty good build

Agreed but Yes Tech City has told me that if you're as lucky as him, even a garbage PSU with high end parts won't blow up...

No, that is also utter crap. EVGA W1 and Corsair VS are very poor quality and should be avoided

I never said a thing about dual channel.

 

Literally ANY stick of ram should be able to OC to 1866 and be stable though.

Yes and no...it is very poor quality indeed but why hasn't it blown up yet with a 7950 running off it mining 24/7?

Yes and no...it is very poor quality indeed but why hasn't it blown up yet with a 7950 running off it mining 24/7?

If you can, try to go dual-channel, but otherwise it should be fine. The difference I believe wouldn't be that big anyway.

nope, IceQ 7950, 40% fan speed (like half the decibles my 6 fans in my primary PC makes with all of em at 5 volts), 70C on core and 90C on both VRMs...somehow non passively cooled VRMs run hotter than VRMs that has no heatsink over em

Yup, very very beefy heatsink, has a few heatpipes and sizzle, it cools better than a XFX DD, sapphire something custom and MY GOD, NON BLOWER REFERENCE IS SO FUCKING LOUD (and hot)! it's like a 20cm by 20cm  block of heatsink/metal, nothing special, cooled by a single 80mm fan that ramps up to 4600rpm (95%) to keep it at a cool 88C
