The differences in Pixel rate and Texture rate ae so small that a proper OC can easily mitigate them. As for the chips, both are GK104 so performance is close. What do you expect?

If he benchmarked a stock 670 it would be lower than what he showed.

 

The difference between a 670 and a 770 apart from about 100-200MHz core clock is 1 SMX multi processor (192 Kepler Cuda cores, 16 TMUs and usually 8 ROPS) and a 1GHz faster GDDR5.

IKR i would be mad too, thank nVIDIA, ever since the move from Fermi, nVIDIA had to gimp the lower end much harder than before, Cuda Cores are just slower since Fermi sadly

They publicly announced that with Kepler each SMX contained 90% of the performance of the Fermi Equivalent.

But to compensate they added a lot more SMX units. And to think I was *This* close to getting a GTX 780 with 2304 Kepler cuda cores instead of stupid 1536!

The rx 460 as they said is going to be a eSports gaming card but for a price tag of $100-$120 you cant have VR and cant game at 1080p ultra settings 60fps at games such as GTA 5 , Witcher 3

1070's price is also 100$ above the 970

A more realistic expectation is a 280$ 1060 with performance similar to the 970 or between that and the 980 as the 1070 stock is close to the 980

Only Founder's Editions. AIBs are cheaper and down in the $620 range for 1080s and $390 for a 1070.

There is not a single 1070 that I have seen bellow 410$. Feel free to prove me wrong. Rules: Has to be available for purchase immediately, not out of stock or used.

1080s are 650$ for the cheapest one.

980 Ti Matrix matched the 1080 in TTL's review. Not sure what YOU are watching/reading

A bit too optimistic.

 

GTX 1080 is about 80% faster than 980. Also, the 1080 competes with much faster gddr5x vram. 

The 1060 will presumably be half a 1080 (1280 CUDA vs 2560).

The 1080 has seen a +10% price increase, while the 1070 is at +15%.

 

GTX 1060 has more chances to be between 970 and 980 at 230-250$ than what you claim.

The maximum overclocked 980TI that practically no one can buy anyway matches the 1080. Also, I provided a source. You didn't.

 

Prices have gone back up a bit. A few days ago I saw both of those prices. Will see if I can drag them out of Google Cache.

The 460 Isn't designed to be a VR capable card. It's marketed toward budget and MOBA players. The 470 is supposed to be a 1080p powerhouse and the 480 is the one marketed toward VR users. The msrp is speculated to be about $100, $150, and $200 respectively.
