Congrats! I went through that in 2008.

 

I still look back on HS fondly.

Ah high school.. I never got why people made such a big deal about graduating, it's just that it's more expected than unlikely that you make it. That's what I also thought when graduating.

It was good to go through the experience, but no, I was not overly emotional. Friends come and go - good ones will stay with you forever, so I don't really miss most of the people I went to high school with. You'll make more in College. Graduating high school is also not especially difficult for most people, so it's not like "Holy shit I finally graduated!". If you get a PHD, then you can say that :P

I only started to tear up when they showed a really sad video at the end of the day to all the graduating students even a few of my friends started to tear up too otherwise it was a pretty calm bitter sweet day

Ah high school.. I never got why people made such a big deal about graduating, it's just that it's more expected than unlikely that you make it. That's what I also thought when graduating.

I'm also graduating high school next week wednesday, but in Austria ;)

Though its a bit different here: I already finished school two months ago, but we have to pass six exams (the Matura) in order to be allowed to study. On wednesday I have two final oral exams, in english and music.

Nah wasn't emotional for me. It was a "finally I can get away from these asshats" for me. And I did. You couldn't pay me to go back, I'm so much happier now :)

wow I only had to take my finals and in the US we have to take the SAT exams or ACT exams and they can help determine what collages you can get into and if you have to take placement exams to get into certian collages

I graduated high school two years ago (at the tender age of 26). 

My last day just consisted of me going to my last exam (High level history) and then going to work straight afterwards. 

 

Saying goodbye to any of the people I went to school with would have been a waste of oxygen.

I was excited as piss to get out of high school, couldn't wait to move out of my parents.  It is a weird feeling leaving something that you've been doing basically your entire life.

 

If you're planning on more studies register for your courses early so you don't have to wake up at 6am everyday.

I graduated from "high school" twice. Once after completing the German A-levels (Abitur) and once after completing the IB in an international college in England. The only reason why I tortured myself for another 2 years was to get into a US university, which did work out, so I can't complain. In fact, it was probably my best decision I ever made. The entire experience really broadened my mind, skills and made me more independent.

 

I'm also really happy that as a result, I have been able to travel and experience new things constantly while most of my old friends still live with their parents and are stuck with their usual routine. (living on campus is not a thing in Germany)

Graduated yesterday. I'm more sad about loosing some of the connections with friends that I'm not really best friends with but I still enjoyed being around since 3rd grade when I moved to my school disrict. Some friends are moving to different states permenantly. Other than that I'm gonna miss the lack of major responsibilities.

 

Still excited for college though.
