Posted June 5, 2016 I completely understand that there is no "best pair of headphones" and that it all depends on preference. It's difficult to shop for headphones since there are so many but I want to hear what your favorite pair is so I can check some of them out. And that's coming from someone who owns noctua fans and an Enermax Ceonus case. I know that there is a black version but it costs significantly more and I'm not sure I'm willing to pay that premium. Posted June 5, 2016 OP the 558 sounds 95% the same as the 598 and you can just do a really simple mod and they will sound 100% the same. Before you buy amp and dac. HD558 shouldn't cost more. If you're buying from US amazon, the 598 SE (black) costs the same as the original.
