Using a soldering iron for bending PGET?

So I was looking online and was wondering if a soldering iron was acceptable for bending PGET, or would it be much too hot or maybe not even really distribute he properly?

Don't use a soldering iron, you're going to get very frustrated from the heat being inconsistent and hotspotting on the tube. Get an actual heat gun.

That wouldn't work but just mar or burn the tubing, your best off with a heat gun or even putting that end in boiling water with the mandrel to bend it.

I found a really cheap 20 dollar heatgun so i'll just be using that but thanks for everything you've helped me with man, really appreciate it :)

Having just finished my petg loop, I can't even imagine how you would plan to try and use a soldering iron..

For a beginner it's hard enough to make nice bends with a heat gun, I can't imagine trying to use some exotic method.

that would not work at all

it is WAY too hot and concentrated

you need to use a heat gun

Yeah I can understand that, I'll probably buy a special tube bending tool to help.
