While I have a couple icons on my desktop for folders they are hidden by my RainMeter theme so I never see them.

No icons for me. Depending on what version of Windows you have, it's mildly annoying to stupidly easy to remove the Recycle Bin.

I'm not in front of my W10 machine, so this is from memory. Right click on the recycle bin, and I think there should be a 'Pin to Start Menu...' and 'Pin to Taskbar...' options. I pinned mine to my start menu so it's still easy to get to if I need. Then right click on the desktop, Personalize (where the screen saver and other options like that are) and then there is an option somewhere to change desktop icons. Uncheck all of them and they're gone.

I use https://alpha.wallhaven.cc/ which has really nice options for filtering.

 

Edit: I currently have closer to 8,000 wallpapers that my computer cycle through every 20 minutes.

My current wallpaper is one that I made, and the one before it was from an 80s comic spread that I scanned and cleaned up. I almost never change my wallpaper, I've been using those two for at least 3 years.
